Today, Wayne County CEO students met with Wayne County Clerk, Liz Ann Woodrow. Liz Ann shared the wide range of responsibilities her office handles, including overseeing all county elections, paying county bills, maintaining birth and death certificates, military records, land deeds, and serving as secretary of the Wayne County Board.

During her time as County Clerk, Liz Ann has worked to modernize the office by digitizing records, upgrading election technology, and updating service fees to align with surrounding counties. She plans to retire at the end of her current term and expressed pride in the many accomplishments she and her staff have achieved in partnership with the County Board and other elected officials.

Students asked Liz Ann about the educational background needed for her position. She explained that her most valuable training came from years of service on the County Board, where she gained experience with budgets and county finances. She also emphasized that Wayne County remains fiscally strong.

The students enjoyed learning from Liz Ann and appreciated the doughnuts she provided. We are grateful for her time, her insights, and her dedicated service to our county.
