Today, Wayne County CEO students spent the morning with Claire Vaughan, owner and operator of RJ Marketing. Claire shared insight into her educational background and professional journey, giving students a firsthand look at how her career evolved.

She explained that while on maternity leave, she found herself wrestling with the decision of whether to return to work full time. During that time, a local small business owner reached out for help bringing his business into the 21st century through social media marketing. Claire was happy to assist—and soon realized, if he needs this, I bet other small business owners do too! From that moment, RJ Marketing was born.

In addition to her education and professional background, Claire spoke with students about the benefits—and the fun—of using videos and reels to market themselves and tell the story of their business through social media. Students were then challenged to find a business in downtown Fairfield, or promote their own $1 to $100 Challenge business, by developing a short, creative reel.

In addition to running RJ Marketing, Claire also owns and operates Mule Nation and Bobcat Nation, streaming services that broadcast sports and community events for the local high school and community college in Fairfield.
