On Sunday, November 2, Kristi Hornung, owner and operator of Carnaby Square in Fairfield, partnered with the Frontier Community College Foundation to host a fashion show raising funds for the Fran Carter Scholarship, which supports second–year athletes at Frontier.
Kristi had recently visited the Wayne County CEO class to speak about the importance of community engagement and mentioned the upcoming event. Following that session, student Jaxon Basnett approached her with an idea to promote his CEO business at the event — and she gave him the opportunity to run with it.
Below is a video from the fashion show. One of the first lessons students learn in the CEO program is the value of networking and seeking out every opportunity to collaborate with local businesses. Jaxon put himself out there and discovered a unique platform to showcase and promote his business!
