Over the past month, Wayne County CEO students have spent their Thursday mornings at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, gaining valuable insight into the healthcare field. Thanks to the efforts of Mary McCulley, Director of Services, four engaging and educational visits were arranged across a variety of hospital departments.
Students had the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiences in areas such as speech therapy, the lab, surgery, and pain management. They also toured several departments, including the pharmacy, Skilled Care (third floor), medical-surgical unit, ICU, and radiology.
In addition, students met with Brian Rawls, who shared about his role as a security guard at FMH. He explained how hospital security helps support the community by allowing local law enforcement to focus on patrolling and responding to issues throughout the city and county.
Fairfield Memorial Hospital has been an important collaborator with the CEO program this year, hosting our monthly Mentor Mixers and coordinating these valuable student visits. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and cannot thank them enough for their hospitality throughout this program year. #fairfieldmemorialhospital
