On Friday, March 27, Wayne County CEO students attended the Illinois Oil & Gas Association Conference and Trade Show in Evansville, Indiana.

Students spent part of the morning in breakout sessions with Seth Whitehead, Executive Director of the Illinois Petroleum Resources Board; Matt McCarthy of McCarthy Law Office in Carmi; and Ross Basnett of Campbell Energy & PIAP Oil. These speakers shared how the oil and gas industry plays a role in nearly every aspect of daily life, as well as the significant jobs and revenue it brings to both state and local communities.

Following the sessions, students explored the trade show, where they connected with industry vendors and gathered ideas for their own booths at the upcoming Wayne County CEO Trade Show. The event will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Church of the Harvest in Wayne City.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Illinois Petroleum Resources Board for the invitation and for providing such an insightful and impactful experience.
