The Wayne County CEO Program kicked off its first project this past Friday—the Badge Business!
Tyler Lampley, co-owner of Save-A-Lot in Fairfield, joined the students to talk about ROI, or return on investment. Tyler explained that every product, advertising dollar, and marketing or promotional expense needs to be evaluated based on the return it generates. Money spent on products that don’t sell and simply sit on the shelves offers little to no return on investment.
Tyler also shared that some of his most successful promotions are “like, comment, share” promotions on social media. The giveaways are typically gift cards to the store, which help increase foot traffic and ultimately result in sales.
As our students begin partnering with local business owners and entrepreneurs for their Badge Business projects, they will be sharing the return on investment their partnerships generate.
Be on the lookout for our team—they may be visiting your business soon!
Thank you, Tyler, for sharing your time and expertise with our students and helping them kick off their first project of the year!
