Wayne County CEO students welcomed Dr. Sharmila Kakac, Vice Chancellor of Business and Industry with the Illinois Eastern Community College District, on October 23rd. Dr. Kakac spoke to students from both the Wayne County and Clay County CEO programs about the importance of conducting a SWOT analysis when evaluating business opportunities.

Students learned how to identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) as they begin considering potential class business ventures and their own individual business ideas. This exercise encouraged students to think critically, recognize opportunities, and evaluate the challenges that may come with starting and operating a business.
